When I was in high school I didn’t try at any subject really. Actually I just barely graduated. I think when I did graduate I had under a 2.0. My GPA stopped me from playing any sports or any extracircular activates such as football or track. When I started at community college I started with a much different attitude. I have a year of work experience under my belt and I know where I didn’t want to be for the rest of my life. I deiced I wanted to go somewhere, but doing poorly in high school paid its toll on me. I was deficient in all my prereqs. I had to start in very low in math and English, but it wasn’t all bad. My first day of class I was dedicated. I did all my homework and studied hard, but I didn’t need to study for math. I would get great grades test after test with almost no studying at all. Then after a while I studied less but still kept up on my homework until I stop studying at all. When I did this I noticed that the grades on my tests where still great. That is when I realized that I was good at math. From there I started little study groups to help out the other people in my classes that were not doing as well as I was doing. I started to realize that if I help out other students in my class it made me better at the math in which I was teaching them how to do. So over time I stopped studding all together. I started just helping out other students in my class which actually helped me learn and memorize the material more than just doing two hundred problems. I think that this experience with math has helped me deepen my skills. Also at the same time I think that it was showing me a better way for me to learn. And that better way to learn for me was to teach the subject matter rather than just do a whole bunch of problems. So in the end my friends that needed help got and I also got a lot of practice with the material. I am glad I got a math class with the friends that I have.
